Fed: Clean energy to soar after historic deal struck

Wind farms and solar panels are set to take over Australia .. after politicians agreed
on a historic deal to boost clean energy.

The Renewable Energy Target scheme forces electricity retailers to buy a portion of
their electricity from renewable sources.

This costs more than coal-fired power and the extra cost is passed through to consumers
.. with electricity bills expected to go up about 80 cents a week.

Investors have dozens of plans for new wind farms ready to go once the scheme is implemented
.. and it'll also mean a new rebate for rooftop solar panels of up to seven thousand 750
dollars.
